Wat Traimit means “Temple of The Three Friends”. This temple is very famous because it is the location of Phra Phuttha Maha Suwan Patimakon, which has been listed in the 1991 Guinness Book of Records as the largest solid gold Buddha image in the world. The Gold Buddha, displaying the subduing Mara, was made of about 83% pure gold and weighing five and a half tons, the 15-foot tall seated image is worth millions of dollars at today’s gold prices.

The Yaowarat Heritage Centre covers the history of the early Chinese immigrants to Bangkok, their integration into Thai society and the growth of Chinatown Bangkok with Yaowarat Road as the main thoroughfare. A glimpse into the past, early history 1782-1851, life in the old days, history 1851–the present, nostalgia, Sino-Thai relations – memorable moments and Chinatown Bangkok scenes are their performances inside the museum. The Chinese community in Thailand has come a long way since those tough early days. So has Chinatown as a landmark in modern Bangkok today.

Wat Pho means the monastery of the Bodhi tree. This is the extraordinary temple dedicated to King Rama I where the cinerary remains are enshrined. Wat Pho is also classified as one of the six First Class Royal temples in Thailand. It is one of the largest and oldest temples in Bangkok with an area of 22 acres and is home to more than one thousand Buddha images. It is considered the earliest centre for public education in Thailand, and the marble illustrations and inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions has been recognized by UNESCO in its Memory of the World Program. It also houses a school of Thai medicine, and is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple. Wat Pho is not only the largest temple in Bangkok, but also where one of the most beautiful Reclining Buddha is enshrined.

Wat Arunratchawararam Ratchaworamahawihan or the Temple of Dawn is the extraordinary temple dedicated to King Rama II where the cinerary remains are enshrined. This temple is also classified as one of the six First Class Royal temples in Thailand. It is one of the most famous landmarks in Bangkok because it is the location of the Thailand’s tallest prang, a Thai architectural tower built with influence of Khmer architectural style. Moreover, this sacred temple was the religious, ceremonial and spiritual center of the Thai people during the reign of King Taksin the great. The famous Emerald Buddha image was also once enshrined about 6 years here before being transferred to the Emerald Buddha Temple in 1785.

Please do not dress this way when entering a Temple or place of worship. There are strict with dress code so be prepared! So if you are not sure then make sure.

Day 1
Meeting Point

On your set schedule, meet your local tour guide at the hotel lobby or meeting point. Start trip by a private vehicle (or the transportation that you chose) to the Wat Traimit Wittayaram Temple.

Note: Children aged 1 and younger are complimentary when accompanied by a paying adult. Children over 3 feet and 11 inches (120 cm) are charged as adults. Children aged 11 and younger must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Day 2
Temple of the Gold Buddha

It is the one of the most famous place in the world where has the largest gold Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara and is recorded in the Guinness World Record. This gold Buddha image is 3.01 meters wide and 3.91 meters tall. It is also believed to be constructed during Sukhothai period (780+ years ago).

Day 3
Yaowarat Heritage Centre

The long history of the Sino-Thai community and the contribution of Chinese descendants to modern Thai society are on display at the Yaowarat Chinatown Heritage Center in Bangkok. Suchanee Rungmuenporn takes us there.

The museum is located on the first level of the building that houses the famous Golden Buddha in Wat Traimit Temple.

Day 4
Temple of Reclining Buddha

Make a pilgrimage to Giant Reclining Buddha which on the sole of the foot, inlaid in mother of pearl, is the auspicious number 108. Moreover, you can enjoy the beautiful Buddhist fine arts and the existing Thai intellect which has descended from ancient times, taken as immortal careers knowledge, e.g., School of Traditional Medicine and Massage, the first centre of public education and etc.

Day 5
Temple of Dawn

Get to Boat-Ferry-Tha Tien Pier to Wat Arun Pier. Most tourists come for the climb and do not have time for the rest of the temple. The beauty of the architecture and the fine craftsmanship declare its status as a temple of the first grade and one of the most outstanding temples of Thailand. Then, get to Pier on the Chao Phraya River Express boats.

Day 10
End of Trip

Finally, return to hotel or your next journey.
